The Tragically Hip’s 1995 appearance on Saturday Night Live gave us one of the most memorable lyrical slip-ups in live television. Introduced by fellow Canadian Dan Aykroyd, the band launched into “Grace, Too,” but frontman Gord Downie stumbled over the opening line, singing “He said I’m tragically hip” instead of “He said I’m fabulously rich.” He caught the mistake almost immediately, but the moment became part of the band’s history. The appearance came during the touring cycle for Day for Night, the band’s 1994 album, and marked their only time as musical guests on SNL. Aykroyd had personally pushed for the group to appear on the show, helping introduce a band that was already hugely successful in Canada but less widely known to American audiences. Downie and the band later embraced the accidental lyric change, and he would sometimes sing “tragically hip” during subsequent live performances. A small mistake became a lasting piece of Canadian rock history. #TheTragicallyHip #GordDownie #SNL #GraceToo #CanadianRock
Some pieces are super easy to transition from day to night… I’m still looking for the link for the moto jacket… For the rest, type, links, and I’ll send your way!!

23rd in the world!! 🌎 🌺 Happy with the result and the day I put together! As I said earlier this week, I had no real expectation other than to learn and enjoy the day so to come away ranked top 25 in the world is awesome! Kona is truely a different beast. Conditions were brutal on course. I played it safe, kept a lid on my effort and was able to pace a consistent race. Now I’ve got the experience under my belt I’m keen to return to the island again to push and really see what I can do. But for now I’m looking forward to heading home after a long season away, it’s been a good year but I know I still have a lot more to show. It’s early days and I’m excited for some big seasons ahead!
