What “war”? Catherine is the future Queen, not a rival in some celebrity popularity contest. She has a role, responsibilities and a life beyond competing with Meghan for headlines. Why should she “up her game” to accommodate someone who chose to step away from royal duties? The only people turning this into a war are those desperate to manufacture one. Catherine, Princess of Wales, has no obligation to get involved with Meghan, the gossip-column personality. Her role as the wife of the Prince of Wales is to serve her country and its people, which she does impeccably, while giving her children a healthy, loving and well-rounded family life. She’s focused on her work and the charities and causes she cares about. She doesn’t need to be dragged into somebody else’s soap opera. Catherine only has to be Catherine: she’s the Princess of Wales and future Queen, not a contestant in a headline-grabbing contest. Catherine and William don’t need to do anything differently. They have their own lives, their children and their work to focus on. There’s no need for Catherine to engage in a manufactured feud or compete with anyone for headlines.
