11 weeks ago I got a call from @d.angelopeak telling me he’s running the Chicago Marathon and he asked me if I wanted to run it too. I just said “sure,” and locked in ever since. I’ve never considered myself a “runner” before this but I fully threw myself into a marathon training plan on the Nike Run Club app with only 11 weeks to go. My only training was through this app and with the guided runs by @coachbennett which is why I was so geeked to meet him at the start line 🥲 I didn’t have a bib but I had zero doubt it would come if I trained anyway. 5 weeks into training with pure faith, I secured a bib. This whole thing kinda started out as a “do it for the plot” type thing but along the way it turned into a real exercise of faith… of trusting myself and trusting the universe. Running was a way to meet a higher version of myself. I met her over and over again. No chafing, no bathroom breaks, no toenails lost, no cramps, and no injuries. I hit all my marathon bucket list goals and hit my secret goal which was to finish under 4:30. Trying is so fucking cool. We all try. Try and try again. And as my mom would say, “Endure.” And lastly, thank you to all my friends and your support. I have the greatest friends in the world. I cannot stress this enough, I am absolutely NOTHING without you. 🫂 Til next time!
Across India, we welcome the Goddess as our Divine Mother during Navratri. But in Bengal, she comes home as a beloved daughter, Uma. Instead of fasting, the region celebrates her return with new clothes, family feasts, and pure joy. Rooted in warrior traditions, this festival reminds us that devotion isn’t always about strict rules sometimes, it is just the joy of welcoming your child home. . . . . . #BhavnaRoy #DurgaPuja #Navratri #IndianWisdom #ShaktaTradition
