Signs of life in my Asian gourds! I did a stupid thing - I overestimated my ability to sprout seeds - and thus lost about four weeks of planting time (3 rounds of asian gourds). My gourds only went into the ground in late June. Fortunately 9b has a long growing season, and it looks like I’ll be able to grab a few bitter, luffa, and calabash gourds by Halloween 😅

Unfortunately, I’m not exactly sure how I got these dang things to sprout this year, so my only real lesson learned is to start them early and buy a LOT of extra seeds in case they don’t work out next year. I’ll target a May transplant date with seed starting in April. That would net me gourds in August!
