In the wake of a horrific shooting on Halloween night, individuals within the UD community chose to platform hate against Black individuals. BSU will not stand for this. - Dealing with a traumatic event on a university campus is hard for everyone, but the additional blame and racism towards Black people adds on an even greater toll for Black students. This hate has no place on UDs campus. DSU should not be in the mouths of these people, Black high schoolers should not be shunned for their existence on a holiday night, and the harm from these comments should not be ignored. - BSU demands that the University condemns these comments and reinstates formal DEI and social justice education on campus. Itโ€™s clear that itโ€™s needed, for ignorance and hate still fester at this institution. - Our hearts are with the victims of this shooting and their families๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค Please use the links in our bio to access updates about this shooting and mental health resources. โœŠ๐Ÿพ
NEPHEW, LET ME TELL YOU HOW I USED TO THINK IN MY HUSTLING DAYS. I used to give my drivers permission to tell on me if they got caught. My reasoning was simple: I figured if they got caught, they were probably going to talk anyway. So instead of pretending otherwise, I wanted them operating without that additional fear. I even had a dummy phone number they could call. In my mind, if that phone rang, I knew everything had gone bad. I also kept money set aside for bail and attorneys. I believed in preparing for the worst instead of hoping for the best. I had layers upon layers of contingency plans. At the time, I thought I was being sophisticated. I thought I was managing risk. But hereโ€™s what I want you to understand, nephew. You can be intelligent, disciplined, organized, and still be making a fundamentally foolish decision. All that preparation didnโ€™t change the consequences of the life I was living. Today, I apply that same forward thinking to legitimate business, my career, and protecting my family. The greatest move I ever made wasnโ€™t learning how to manage the risks of the streets. It was learning to leave those risks behind. Learn from my experiences. You donโ€™t have to repeat them. For educational purposes only #truecrime #law #men #cocaine #uncleputt
