As of Jan 1st 2021, there are 6,542 satellites orbiting Earth. Only half of them are actually active. We so eagerly launched stuff into space for maps and on-demand TV, that we’ve managed to fill LITERAL NOTHINGNESS with garbage that no one is really responsible for.
And this is only the beginning, space tourism and satellite internet are high priorities for the two richest people on the planet (sup @jeffbezos & Elon Musk). But scientists are complaining that our most powerful telescopes are experiencing exponential amounts of light interference the more shiny satellites we launch into orbit. Which is a hilarious irony, that the more excited we get about irresponsible space commercialisation, the less we’re actually be able to learn about space. 🚀

This is the saddest one. Pretty fitting since it's the last of the series, ig? The fact that astronauts left more than 181,000 kgs of trash at the moon too- 🥲 We're sorry Luna, you didn't deserve this. 😔
