india on my plate • ep 4 - assam • til diya kukura mangxo/ black sesame chicken

ingredients:

1. chicken: 600 g
2. black sesame seeds: ½ cup
3. mustard oil: ¼ cup
4. onions: 2 medium, sliced
5. green chillies: 3, chopped
6. ginger garlic paste: 1 tbsp
7. turmeric powder: ¼ tsp
8. salt: to taste
9. cumin powder: 1.5 tsp
10. garam masala: 1.5 tsp
11. hot water: 1½ cups

for garnishing:

1. fresh coriander
2. 2–3 slit green chillies
3. lemon juice (optional)

method:

1. start by dry roasting the black sesame seeds on low heat until fragrant. keep stirring and be careful not to burn them, since it’s difficult to tell when black sesame is over-roasted. let them cool, then grind into a fine powder and set aside.
2. heat mustard oil in a pan. add the sliced onions and cook until translucent. add the chopped green chillies, ginger garlic paste and turmeric. continue cooking until the onions soften.
3. add the chicken and salt. cook on high heat for about 3 minutes, then add the roasted black sesame powder. mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.
4. pour in 1½ cups of hot water, cover and let the chicken cook for 20–25 minutes, or until tender.
5. once the chicken is cooked, remove the lid and increase the heat to medium-high. add cumin and garam masala powder. continue cooking until the excess water evaporates, the gravy thickens and the oil begins to separate.
6. finish with fresh coriander, slit green chillies and a squeeze of lemon if you like.

serve hot with rice or roti!

The film industry is not ready for what AI can do.

The famous police lineup scene from The Usual Suspects (1995) has been recreated with five of Hollywood’s biggest action stars: Jean-Claude Van Damme, Wesley Snipes, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, and Chuck Norris.

The result looks like a scene from an action movie that never existed. This would have been stupidly expensive to make with the real actors.

And that’s what makes this so interesting. Getting five of Hollywood’s biggest action stars together for a scene like this would have once required a huge budget, contracts, scheduling, and an entire production crew.

Now, in 2026, a single creator can make something like this with AI tools. The cost of creating film scenes is changing fast, along with who gets to make them.

This particular recreation was made by @thisaintcanon, showing just how far these tools have come.

What do you think this means for Hollywood? 🤔💬
