Since 2004, the Doernbecher Freestyle initiative has worked with hundreds of kids to bring their stories to life through their own signature Nike shoes that will benefit their community. For Year 22, six kids from the OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital collaborated with Nike employee volunteers to create one-of-a-kind sneakers that are sold to benefit other kids just like them. Owen’s passion for dirt biking shows up in the mud-splatter pattern that extends from the toe cap on his Air Max 1/97. Aurora reimagined her Structure Plus as her own dream hotel in Japan. She chose a soft, faux fur on the collar representing carpets and a room key charm bracelet. Royce competes in team bull roping, just like his parents. This family tradition is reflected in the braided laces; his favorite belt has been recreated on the ankle strap of his AF1 Mid. Charlye’s ACG Rufus reflects her outdoorsy spirit and has a textured green swoosh that reminds her of moss. The UV-activated upper reveals a new color and hidden graphics. Kamoryn’s GT Future has a color-fading pink and purple upper that he can see with his specific color-blindness. The goldfish details throughout nod to Kamoryn being under anesthesia post-surgery and seeing the animal swimming through the walls. Avery’s Air Jordan 11 Low IE has a midsole full of characters Avery drew herself, representing all the cute aliens she designed, with a main character plushie she named “Greg.”

A Catholic priest has died after a large wooden cross fell on him while he was celebrating Mass in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The priest, identified as Father Patricio Alfredo Sánchez Molinari, was celebrating Mass at the Nuestra Señora del Perpetuo Socorro Church on Saturday, October 17, 2026, when the cross positioned behind the altar became detached and fell on him. The incident was captured during a livestream of the Mass. Videos circulating online show the cross falling onto the priest as worshippers reacted and rushed to assist him. Some things leave us, but never really disappear. They live in the spaces between who we were and who we’ve become. Maybe letting go isn’t about forgetting, but accepting that some things change us forever. Adoro esta canción de @rosalia.vt y @fontainesband obsessed with this song ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹
