Macklemore will donate his entire $1 million in net earnings from the Ed Sheeran Loop Tour to six organisations supporting P*lestinians: P*lestine Children’s Relief Fund, HEAL P*lestine, G*za Soup Kitchen, Medical Aid for P*lestinians, UNRWA USA and Anera.

This after he was removed from the remaining tour dates following his performances at MetLife Stadium, where he condemned Israel’s actions in G*za and the occupied West Bank and declared, “Free P*lestine”.

Macklemore then decided to avoid making the issue about him and instead put P*lestine back at the centre. He said, “Whatever we disagree about, perhaps we can agree on this: P*lestinian lives are worth protecting,” and then publicly challenged Kraft to match his $1 million in donations.

Kraft responded with a statement, saying Ed Sheeran had already contacted him before Macklemore issued the challenge and pledged $2 million toward humanitarian relief, asking Kraft to match it. Kraft agreed to another $2 million. Kraft added that for decades he’s been trying to build bridges between Isr*elis and P*lestinians.

However, it is unknown where Sheeran and Kraft’s money will go, as neither have publicly identified exactly which organisations will receive their respective $2 million contributions.

Pop star Katy Perry also announced she would donate $1 million to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. Children's entertainer, Ms Rachel, also matched Macklemore’s donation. Meanwhile, several artists, including Imagine Dragons and Dave Matthews Band, also hailed P*lestinian flags at their concert.

This comes after every remaining supporting act on Sheeran’s tour dropped out, with several explicitly citing solidarity with Macklemore and opposition to wealthy venue owners deciding which political views artists can express.
