Didn’t want any more time to pass without acknowledging the passing of Sam’s beloved grandma, “GiGi”. We have lost three grandparents in under 2 years now, and it never quite gets easier. GiGi was an amazing woman who lived 89 wonderful years. She loved Jesus with all her heart and was truly selfless. It’s been a hectic couple of weeks but a good chance to reflect on the meaning of family and loving well. Gigi will be missed dearly 💗

A voyage on a huge ocean liner had been their long-held dream. And now they were aboard the Titanic. The deck. Warm wood, heated by the sun. The wind tangled in their fur, seagulls cried out, but for them, only this moment existed—stretched out like a shadow at sunset. Close by. Wordless. Unhurried. The bow of the ship. She spread her paws wide, and the ocean opened up beneath her like a vast book yet to be read. He held her—gently, but as if his whole life were contained in that grip. The wind blew salty spray from his whiskers, and it seemed as if the whole world belonged to them alone. A quiet cabin. Coal crumbled beneath his paw, leaving fine lines on the sail. He was painting her portrait—and each stroke held more truth than a hundred spoken words. She lies with her paw outstretched, looking at him in such a way that he becomes embarrassed and looks away. The portrait is beautiful. And so is she. Night. The deck. The stars hang so low it seems you could touch them with your whiskers. And suddenly, out of the darkness, a white bulk. An iceberg. An uninvited guest who didn't knock. Ears pressed back, claws extended, hearts pounding in unison. The ship shudders—and the world cracks in two. Water. Black, icy, merciless. But in the middle of this darkness, a door. Large, wooden, polished by the waves. She lies on the door, clinging to the wood, and he holds on to the edge with his forepaws, his hind legs still in the water. The waves rock them, the wind howls, but his paws don't let go. He reaches out to her, gently touching her muzzle with his tongue, as if wiping away the cold and fear. She responds, running her tongue over his fur, warming him. In this icy sea, on the edge of night, all that remains is the door, two pairs of eyes, and one word: love. Thank God, everything is fine.
