I was not going to share about this, but it’s a reminder to all of us: advocate for your health and get checked. Ask to be on the cancellation list (I got in earlier than expected!) and remember that especially as women, we deal with things that deserve our attention and it is not normal to ‘push through’ exhaustion or discomfort. Even though we are busy and have kids and a huge mental load and a million things to do all the time.

I went for minor surgery yesterday for an issue I’d been having for a long time. Thank goodness I am fine, really, not a progressive or life-threatening thing but I had to advocate for this, and in our ‘free’ healthcare system, I waited almost 6 months for a day procedure that I should have gotten right away. I am SO appreciative to the care team at Sunnybrook who was nothing short of amazing, and I am also saddened about the state of our healthcare system, which is so stressed. I had an issue that caused me daily challenges I had to wait months for, because there was only minimal OR time allocated to this ‘non life threatening issue’ per month. Many, many women I know deal with the same thing and it’s super frustrating to have to wait.

Anyway I’m grateful to be over this hump and I’m hoping my message resonates with anyone who sees this to remember that all the money in the world will not buy you your health, so please advocate for yourself and as always, take good care 🤍🤍🤍

Hansi Flick on Raphinha called up by Brazil: “Every player wants to represent their national team and help their country”.

“I’d be happy if he could manage his minutes a little. We know travelling isn’t ideal in this situation, but it’s beyond my control…”

In all its glory.

Combining different subjects into one image can make an idea even more powerful. That’s the power of this technique we can call semantic compounding.

In this Land Rover ad, passport stamps form the shape of the Defender, bringing the idea of travel and adventure into the car itself.

Remove the stamps and you can see how much of that idea disappears.
