There’s no easy way to say this. I was diagnosed with breast cancer this month. The words don’t even feel real as I type them. But this is my new challenge and my new mountain to climb. I had a lot of plans for the rest of this year, plans that did not include a double mastectomy or chemotherapy. life is full of unexpected twists and turns and although it doesn’t make sense to me now, and it’s ok to be scared and angry and upset, I know I will come out on the other side with a greater appreciation of this beautiful life.

To my friends and family all over the world who have made the past couple of weeks bearable, thank you. 🙏🏻 your love, support, prayers, messages, calls and offers of assistance are the brightest points of my day.

I. Will. Not. Yield. 💘💗💖 health and happiness guys, that’s what it’s all about. And I’m going to get it back and then some more.

If you or anyone you know has had breast cancer, you are not alone. I’m here to connect, to learn from you, to share my experience, and to continue sharing the beautiful bits of every day life here in Italy. Because there is always always always something to be grateful for.
