There’s no way I could still fit into those trousers . I’ll be eating a few less pies next month. I was only 10 mins late in the end .

engaged at 18
married at 19

and trust me, it sounds just as crazy to say now six years in.

do I think getting married that young is right for even most people? No. You get married when the Lord tells you to get married and brings the person He has for you and not a moment sooner (or later.)

To myth bust:
1. We were waiting until marriage, but got married because we knew it was time and that it was right. I cared about marrying a man of integrity and character more than I cared about getting to be intimate. Although almost six years in… still 10/10 and i don’t know what people are talking about when they say marriage makes it boring.

2. We weren’t pregnant. In fact, it was 3.5 years into marriage until we started trying. Not that it wouldn’t have been beautiful to have a baby early, but it wasn’t our story.

3. We both worked through full time university to support ourselves in a small apartment. We finished our bachelors degrees and worked professionally. I was an ICU nurse for two years before becoming a mom.

4. You do a LOT of growing up together. But in two SURRENDERED hearts that’s a beautiful thing. Our eyes were set on Jesus.

5. We have traveled the world, paid off 76k of student loan debt, moved four times, and had a baby. Our life has been full and beautiful.

6. We were broke. And it was beautiful. My favorite memories were when Ben and Jerry’s was a splurge and we’d watch Lost on our Facebook marketplace couch. (Which we only got rid of six months ago by the way in exchange for an estate sale one that was even cheaper.)

7. We were two oldest children. We loved the Lord. We had a plan to steward our finances well. And we made it work.

And I wish I’d met him even sooner, so I could have loved him longer. Thank you Jesus ♥️
