Part 5📕
And then a miracle happened. We found a flugpate for the following week (June 23rd), and there was still space left on the plane for 2 dogs! Downside: the papers that were drawn for the previous flight weren‘t valid anymore, so another 100€ were spent on renewing them. And this time our hopes were below zero. No place in Amsterdam was booked. No new things were bought, I hardly even told anyone that we had a new date. We agreed to wait until the dogs boarded the plane before we even thought about actually driving to Ams. The day approaches. A new problem arises: are the papers going to be ready on time? It was a VERY close call, nerve-racking, but they were.
June 23rd: the dogs are in the taxi to the airport. The dogs are at the airport. The flugpate has arrived. 1pm: we got the liberating video; Isabella filming herself, saying that the dogs are checked in and ready to fly. So we packed a small bag, got in the car and drove, Haiku would arrive the following day at 4am at Schiphol Airport.
June 24th, 4am: we are at the arrivals of the airport and meet the couple adopting the second Shiba for the first time, what an exhilarating experience to finally meet one of the people you have been so extensively writing and planning with for the last 4 months in person.
2-3 more hours of waiting until the blue and orange boxes that I had seen on several training videos from Longlong FINALLY come through the one-way sliding doors. Next part is the final one!!🥰
