CJP leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka have been sent to five days of judicial custody and lodged in Tihar Jail after allegedly entering Jantar Mantar, which was recently removed from the list of designated protest sites. The action against the two leaders follows allegations that they violated peace-bond conditions and trespassed into the area despite restrictions. Jantar Mantar has traditionally been a prominent venue for demonstrations in the national capital, but authorities have changed its designated status and identified alternative locations for protests. The case comes amid protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The CJP has been demanding his resignation, while the Election Commission and BJP have denied allegations of wrongdoing in the voter-list revision process. Police have cited alleged trespassing, violation of prohibitory orders, obstruction of a public servant and breach of peace-bond conditions as grounds for action. The leaders had previously been released after furnishing bonds undertaking to maintain peace. CJP representatives have challenged the police action, arguing that the group was exercising its right to peaceful protest. The latest custody order has intensified the debate over restrictions on public demonstrations and the right to dissent in the national capital.

हंस वाला सफ़ेद। 🦢 Elegance is not about standing out; it’s about being remembered. A white ethnic ensemble, timeless jewellery, and makeup that lets the details speak; because true style doesn’t chase attention, it carries its own presence. Some looks are beautiful; some tell a story. This one feels like a little bit of both. 🪷 #TimelessElegance #WhiteEthnicWear #IndianWear #FestiveStyle #ethnicfashionindia
