Peace everyone.

A little while back I had it in mind to get NYC's first public statue of James Baldwin made in time for his 2024 centennial (Aug. 2).

Immediately I saw how it would look, where it would be placed, and which artist would create it. We'll see how all that goes but it did get me going so good enough. 🥡🥂🎼

We both attended DWC and so I see a 12th grade JB outside of our alma mater. Probably on the front steps but since we both cut class on occasion I wouldn't mind the side door on the quieter Sedgwick side.

If the school passes on the piece then it'll be offered up to the rest of the planet.

Thanks to an super assist from @evanbishopart I got my top (and only) choice in sculptors to say she's down.

So now the next step is finding $5,000 asap so that Vinnie Bagwell can create the JB maquette and then we'll keep going on from there.
