My “Surrender” Buck

I always feel closer to God in the wilderness. Away from the distractions of everyday life, it’s easier to slow down and hear His still, small voice.

This hunt was about more than chasing a big buck. It was a reminder of what it means to truly surrender to God and trust His plan rather than asking Him to bless my own.

Throughout this hunt, there were highs and lows, plenty of challenges, and a lot of time to reflect on faith, priorities, and what really matters in life.

In the end, I was blessed to harvest the biggest buck of my life! Having my brother there to share the experience made it that much more special.

But the biggest takeaway from this hunt wasn’t the buck. It was the reminder that surrendering to God isn’t a one-time decision. It’s something we have to choose daily.

It’s easy to say our priorities are God, family, and then everything else. The challenge is making sure the way we live our lives actually reflects those priorities.

I’m grateful for this experience, the lessons learned, and the memories made.

To God be all the praise! His mercy never ends, His grace covers us, and His love is unconditional.
