Wanted to work with my hands more, create, feel, build something, so in June I learnt a new medium of art. @lacunastudiogoa who’s work I love, put up her workshop and I joined in!
Working with clay had both sides of the spectrum, the patience for the clay to take shape, yet the urgency to get what you want before it dries out. It is a very involving medium, as in the kind where your mind can’t be anywhere else, but focus on the clay; which is comforting.
Slab work, coiling and hand building, used all three techniques to create this, and really had the best time.
There are more pieces which come before this, and you can see how each piece changes with the techniques used, will share them soon.
