Story Time✍🏻
When I was 8 years old my dream was to play in the Little League World Series. And even though I never got that opportunity, I remember taking the 5 hour drive to Williamsport Pennsylvania to watch the World Series with my dad every summer. We always got excited about the $2 hot dogs and the Snickers ice cream bars. Pretty ordinary, but we loved it. It was something I looked forward to all summer every summer after my baseball season ended. And now, for the second year in a row I get to live out a dream that didn’t come true when I was 12. From throwing out first pitches, to getting the opportunity to impact baseball players from all over the world with my best friends, to working side by side with @littleleague to create lifelong memories for these players and fans. So thank you Dad, and thank you Williamsport for making me fall in love with baseball, teaching me about dreaming big, and being a place I can come back to and not only reminisce but a place where I can create new memories. I hope one of these summers my dad can come back with me to recreate that second picture (also I’m sorry dad the hot dogs are $4 now… inflation I guess). And if I’m lucky enough to have a little baseball or softball player one day, they’ll be able to experience the same hot August weekend in Williamsport that my dad allowed me to have every year. Because as @msjennafischer once famously said “there’s a lot of beauty in ordinary things… isn’t that kind of the point?”

I was born and raised in Central PA (45-50 mins from the LLWS stadium), I’m going to definitely be taking my son to the games to experience them and hopefully gain the love of baseball. So far at the age of 2, that’s the only sport (other than football) that he pays attention to and seems to enjoy.

I grew up in Williamsport. If they could only maintain the magic and joy of the LLWS all year round I’d probably still live there.

Amazing story!! Thank you for sharing. I live 10 minutes from Williamsport and definitely take having the LLWS here for granted.
