Shyrdak was included in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in need of urgent safeguarding. It is very unfortunate to see our traditional arts and crafts skills loosing it's relevance in a modern society. While we still cherish our artistic heritage, it's also valuable to practice it, to teach it and to show it. Kyrgyz traditional art holds deep cultural meaning, it's an honor for me to be able to learn the knitting and sewing techniques used in Shyrdak. I am proud to come from a country with such beautiful cultural heritage, I am proud to call it home, and I am proud to be Kyrgyz. Happy 33th Independence Day my beloved Kyrgyz Republic 🇰🇬
