Can I tell you about the hardest decision I ever made? 🤍 Choosing to stop 😭 Not because I had given up on my dream. Not because I stopped believing. Not because I loved it any less. But because I loved myself enough to surrender 🥺💫 For anyone who has been on a journey that has asked everything of you, physically, emotionally, spiritually, you will know that there comes a moment where continuing starts to cost you more than you have left to give 😭🤍 That was where I found myself 💫 And the world has a very specific story about what stopping means 💔 It means you quit 🥺 It means you failed 😭 It means you didn’t want it badly enough 💫 And I want to look that story in the eye today and tell it that it is completely and utterly wrong. Because walking away from IVF was not giving up 💫 It was the bravest thing I have ever done 🥺 It was choosing to trust something bigger than the plan I was holding onto so tightly 😭 It was choosing to allow my heart to heal instead of pushing through on an empty tank 🤍 It was choosing to surrender to the belief that if it was meant to be, it would find its way to us 💫 And it did 🥺😭🤍 In the most miraculous, unexpected, beautiful way it did 💫 But here is what I need you to hear even if your story looks nothing like mine 🤍 Surrendering is not the opposite of strength. It is strength in its most courageous form 💫 Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is loosen your grip. Release the plan that is breaking you. Trust the path even when you cannot see where it leads. And believe with everything you have that what is meant for you will not pass you by 😭🤍 Whatever you are white knuckling right now 💫 Whatever you are holding onto so tightly because letting go feels like losing 🥺 I want to gently ask you today 🤍 What if surrendering it was actually the beginning? 💫 Drop a 🤍 below if you have ever had to surrender something you loved deeply to find something even greater 😭💫
One of the hardest parts about moving somewhere new is starting from scratch. New routines, new faces, and trying to find your place in a community that already exists. Jessie and Hannah have been two of the first people to make this new place feel like home. Something as simple as having friends show up for an early morning track workout means more than they probably realize. With the NYC Marathon approaching, I’ve been thinking a lot about momentum. Not just in running, but in life. The importance of continuing to show up, putting yourself out there, looking inward, and trusting that God is working even when things feel unfamiliar. I’m learning that you can be incredibly grateful for where you are and still struggle with the transition of getting there. God has a funny way of putting the right people in your life at the right time. Grateful for these two, grateful for this chapter, and grateful for another day to get better. Slowly but surely, finding my stride. God is good!
Energy prices are up all over the U.S., but the surge is hitting some regions harder than others. And that impact could affect next month’s midterm elections. Rising fuel costs due to the Iran war are the main driver of inflation, which rose to 3.7% in September. But the national average masks wide differences from state to state. In Wyoming, the typical household has spent an extra $969 on gasoline this year because of the Iran war, according to estimates from Brown University’s Climate Solutions Lab. In Oregon, the additional burden was just $336. Regional gas-price increases vary because of differences in refineries and transportation costs. At the same time, people in rural states tend to consume more gasoline because they drive bigger cars over longer distances. That means they are more exposed to rising prices. Researchers at Brown estimated the typical household’s increased cost due for each state by looking at both per-capita gas consumption and the increase in local prices. The results show a disproportionate hit to the heartland – including key battleground states in next month’s Senate election. Read more at the link in our bio.
