02/2022 🌻 update:
First 2 months of internship was the toughest period of my life. Leaving Cape Town, with no money, and learning to survive in a foreign place, with no friends and no family while trying to cope with extreme work expectations was wild AF 😭 watching my mother cry as I left the airport is an image I don’t think I’ll ever forget. I am missing Cape Town so much🥺 but I’m realising now that durbs is not too bad. People here are so welcoming and caring, the rent is cheap the food is thebomb.com and my new friends have been taking care of me. Sending love to everyone ❤️ and strength to the other 1st year interns 🥺🌻 also wow I miss you so much @shea_walls I can’t believe I’m doing this without you🥺
