The story of Rāhu and Ketu begins during the distribution of Amṛta after the Samudra Manthana. An Asura named Svarbhānu disguised himself as a Deva and sat among the Devas, hoping to drink the nectar of immortality. But Sūrya Deva and Candra Deva recognised him and revealed his identity. Before the Amṛta could pass through his entire body, Śrī Viṣṇu, in the form of Mohinī, used the Sudarśana Cakra and severed his head. Svarbhānu had already tasted the Amṛta, so his head could no longer die. It became known as Rāhu. In the widely known later form of the story, his headless body became Ketu. Rāhu is the head without a body. He can see, desire and consume, yet he can never experience complete satisfaction. Ketu is the body without a head. He represents separation from ordinary identity, detachment, inward movement and the gradual release of worldly attachment. The story also explains their relationship with Sūrya and Candra. Rāhu repeatedly attempts to obscure them, giving rise to the traditional account of solar and lunar eclipses. But the light is only covered temporarily. It is never destroyed. In Jyotiṣa, Rāhu and Ketu form one axis. One draws us towards experience, ambition and attachment. The other separates us from what no longer carries meaning. One creates hunger. The other asks what remains when that hunger has been exhausted. Tratando de ser una mejor colombiana 🇨🇴 Episodio 1: Carne encebollada con tomate, plátanos maduros y patacones. It’s time! I’m officially learning how to cook all the dishes I grew up loving. And we’re starting with something super easy because, bueno, por algo se empieza. Carne encebollada con tomate Ingredients: ● Thinly sliced steak ● 1 tsp cumin ● 1 tsp salt ● Black pepper, to taste ● Paprika ● Worcestershire sauce ● Garlic, minced ● 1 onion, sliced ● Tomatoes, chopped ● ½ cup beef broth (I used chicken broth!) ● Oil for cooking Instructions: 1. Season your steak with cumin, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, and Worcestershire sauce. Let it marinate for 10 minutes. 2. Heat a little oil in a skillet and sear the steak for about 30 seconds per side. Remove and set aside. 3. In the same skillet, add your sliced onions and cook for about 10 minutes until softened. 4. Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, then add your tomatoes. Let everything cook until the tomatoes soften and release their juices. 5. Pour in ½ cup of broth and let the sauce simmer for a few minutes. 6. Add the steak back into the skillet and let it finish cooking in the sauce until cooked through. Plátanos maduros Peel and slice ripe yellow plantains diagonally. Fry in oil over medium heat until golden and caramelized on both sides. Remove and sprinkle with a little salt if desired. Patacones 1. Peel green plantains and cut into thick pieces. 2. Fry until lightly golden and softened. 3. Remove and flatten each piece using two board or if you want a pataconera or the bottom of a plate. 4. Fry again until golden and crispy. 5. Sprinkle with salt and serve immediately. Served everything with arrocito blanco, cilantro y aguacate. qué delicia 🤤 Now I need my Colombians to help me out. ¿Qué plato típico colombiano debería hacer para el próximo episodio? Leave your suggestions in the comments because I have A LOT to learn. #ColombianFood #ComidaColombiana #ColombianRecipes #Colombiana #CookingAtHome

You know how there are some things you just keep going back to? For me, @suta_bombay is one of those. It’s been there for so many occasions and little moments over the years, and honestly, I’ve always had a soft spot for it. And I know what you’re thinking… “Oh, here comes another promo!” But when you genuinely love something, you can’t help talking about it, right? You just want to share it with everyone
I genuinely don’t care if they show up naked tomorrow—I’m not joining the three-ring circus. But if you’re making a bingo card, here are a few squares to consider: At least one item rewearing the 2017 visit wardrobe, complete with a return to the 2017 aesthetic The double-claw handhold, plus plenty of PDA Stories about A&L Plaid or tartan, conveniently timed to piggyback on Catherine’s recent visit Someone arranged to curtsy and present a little flower posy, royal-visit style At least one newly discovered British brand getting merchandised A convoy of three or more Range Rovers And, last but not least, a faux security scare. What's on your list???
