Back at The Old Vic to celebrate Matthew Warchus’ tenure. A very emotional evening…the familiar smell of that theatre will always trigger something in me. Congratulations Matthew and good luck for the next chapter.

Our health insurance bill is already 53K A MONTH for our 4 stores • $636,000/year. This is easily our biggest expense, aside from our actual payroll and rent. Anthem values us so much that they are proposing a VIOLENT 59.5% increase on top of this already outrageous premium for us to continue being covered. They want over one million dollars +++ to insure our small business. One reason cited for this increase? Our demographic risk factors. I can count the number of genXers on our payroll on one hand, most of our employees are young, in their 20s and 30s. This is B.S. This is not sustainable. #unsurance @nycmayor @nycmayorsoffice @nytimes @anthembcbs
What does fish oil actually do? Fish oil is mostly talked about for heart health, but it does a lot more than just that… From regulating inflammation in the body, to brain health, even to how your body burns fat and builds muscle But it’s not the fish oil that causes all these benefits, it’s the omega-3’s inside of them (EPA + DHA) And here’s where supplements can get SUPER misleading… The clinical dose for most benefits is at least 1-2g+ of combined EPA + DHA per day But 1g of “fish oil” doesn’t mean 1g of EPA + DHA… (why it’s important to check the label) Most standard formulas only contain around 300mg combined EPA + DHA per serving while still having “1-2g” of total fish oil (meaning you’d need 20+ pills just to get enough EPA + DHA to make a difference) I’m not sponsored by any supplement company, and I don’t make any money if you buy them, but here are several brands I like/trust that hit the clinical dose: Legion Athletics Triton — 2.4g/serving
Nordic Naturals Ultimate Omega 2X — 2g/serving
Gorilla Mind Omega-3 Elixir — 2.g/serving NoordCode Algea Omega-3 (vegan option) — 2g/serving (these aren’t the only ones that exist, just the ones I’ve found and trust) RESEARCH: Fish Oil & Depression PMID: 21939614 PMID: 12365878 PMID: 17659823 Fish Oil & Body Composition PMID: 36822153 Fish Oil & Cognition PMID: 36381743  PMID: 30111738 #supplements #supplement #gym #workout #fitness
