The other day Cazzie had to work all night, so I spontaneously loaded the dogs into my car and decided to hit a hike close by our house.
I’ve done this hike a million times but never by myself, so I spent extra time packing a bag to make sure I had everything I might need for any reason. I honestly almost didn’t go because I was so nervous.
I admittedly don’t solo hike much, but the feeling of freedom that I got was immeasurable. Just me, my dogs, and the wind whistling through the mountains.
I didn’t stay for sunset because while I was feeling pretty dang good, I didn’t want to hike back out in the dark by myself just in case. And that’s ok too.
This hike reminded me of a lot…of the beauty of this area we call home. Of my own individual abilities. Of the insignificance of so many things.
Life is so beautiful. I think we just sometimes forget to live it.
