While the restrictions have mostly been lifted and we can dine out with no group size limits, sometimes, a meal at home with our loved ones is always the best.

And who says that you can’t enjoy a Japanese fine dining experience from the comfort of your home? With @suguruhomedining, we managed to do just that and we were surprised to find that even though the food was delivered to us instead of being served fresh on the spot, the quality of it was the same, if not better, than most Japanese restaurants we’ve been to in Singapore.

Suguru Home Dining kindly sent over their Chilled Truffle Somen with Hokkaido Seasonal Uni & Raw Hokkaido Scallops, Onsen Egg with Ikura and Snow Crab, and Chum Salmon Ikura and boy, were we blown away.

While light and refreshing, the somen was elevated by the rich flavours and creamy texture of the fresh uni. The addition of the chilled, raw Hokkaido scallops also added a subtle sweetness to the dish and mellowed out the briny flavours from the uni. The dish was also surprisingly filling without being too heavy on the palate!

The onsen egg also made the perfect appetiser and the addition of the Ikura and snow crab definitely made it more luxe.
