I've always been a 'playlist person,' making custom mixes for my carpool to school, for friends and crushes, to catalogue the way my synapses fire and lead me from one song, musician, or memory to another. When lockdown started, that tendency kicked into full gear. And as I listened to the songs within, I would picture faux album covers in my mind.

Spurred by the inconvenient boot of unemployment and a need for further creative outlet, I began to realize the images in my head. This was the first, Verbal TKO, a love letter to a genre and style that I almost let pass me by, but I've come to deeply appreciate in the last few years.
