Did something fun to give everyone a little insight/warning as to how my mind works. 😅

Last year I did my first "Spooky Movie a Day" during the month of October, and I ended up loving it enough that I did it again this year. Putting together a list of movies in anticipation, I ended up finding fun/unexpected themes to group them in. Many were planned ahead of time, but somr were spur of the moment, like watching The Fog and then remembering that Pontypool took place primarily in a radio station.

Anyway, enjoyed watching all these movies, and making this little recap, so much-- I obviously can't wait to do it again next year! 🎃 (Add me on Letterboxd if you're on there; I'm OMGLX, natch.) by @omglx

My father was a bell-bottomed man trying to stay alive in his younger years, so I thank heavens that I was not raised in a household where Disco had died. I remember car rides where the windows came down and the volume turned up the moment The Gap Band, Parliament or Chic came on the radio, and part of me has searching for the funk ever since. Well, I found it. Here it is. A ridiculous amount of a variety of disco soul computer jazz P funk, old and new, bonafide slaps and deep cut tracks to move and groove to. Check my highlights for a link if you ever wanted to do the bus stop while at the car wash just kissing your baby. 💗 by @omglx

I've always been a 'playlist person,' making custom mixes for my carpool to school, for friends and crushes, to catalogue the way my synapses fire and lead me from one song, musician, or memory to another. When lockdown started, that tendency kicked into full gear. And as I listened to the songs within, I would picture faux album covers in my mind.

Spurred by the inconvenient boot of unemployment and a need for further creative outlet, I began to realize the images in my head. This was the first, Verbal TKO, a love letter to a genre and style that I almost let pass me by, but I've come to deeply appreciate in the last few years. If you're down with other people's playlists, I hope you'll check out my highlights and give it a spin sometime. 💗 by @omglx
