The Nazis tried to erase his future. Eight decades later, he's making history. At 95 years old, Henri B. Kagan has won the 2026 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. As a Jewish child in Nazi-occupied France, Kagan was forced into hiding with his family, living under false identities to survive the Holocaust. He went on to become one of the most influential chemists of his generation, pioneering discoveries that transformed modern medicine. And now, more than 80 years after surviving the Nazis, he's receiving the highest honor in science: the Nobel Prize. A Jewish child who once had to hide to stay alive is now being celebrated around the world. From surviving the Holocaust to making history at 95, his life is an extraordinary testament to resilience and perseverance.
Our deepest condolences to Nikki and family following the loss of her mum Joyce.
This game was insane
Coming home these days is so bittersweet. I come with excitement in my heart, grateful beyond words that I still have my mother to come home to. But somewhere between that gratitude and the reality of what is, my heart breaks a little more each time. My mom is so different now. Sometimes it feels like I’m talking to a stranger, desperately searching for the woman I’ve known and loved my entire life. I still get glimpses of the old Susan… maybe an hour total throughout the day, if I’m lucky. And Lord, how I cherish those moments. 🥺 i spend so much of my time home fighting back tears, trying to be present, trying to be strong, trying to accept what I cannot change. This particular trip was special for reasons I’ll keep close to my heart. And maybe that’s why reality hit a little harder this time. Because the moments I once imagined sharing with my mother look nothing like I thought they would. It’s a strange kind of heartbreak to miss someone who’s sitting right in front of you. I don’t take a single day for granted. But I would be lying if I said my heart wasn’t hurting. Lord, please help my heart and my mind. Give me the strength to embrace who she is today while holding on to the beautiful woman I’ve always known. And help me find peace in the moments that don’t look the way I prayed they would. 🙏🏽
