According to the US Supreme Court, the police do not have a duty to protect you or anyone. So what’s their real purpose? To maintain the status quo that keeps capitalism alive. America currently has more police per capita than any nation in Europe, and the highest rates of imprisonment in the world, yet it continues to have higher rates of crime. Because the police don’t actually fix anything. They are racist. They murder and imprison black and brown people en masse. They’re are always on the side of the oppressor. They beat up anti war protestors, arrest striking workers, and now they are actively assisting and working with ICE as they kidnap our neighbors and murder innocent people in the streets.
