Now and then: Navi Pillay This year's peace laureate Navi Pillay has been a champion for international legal order for her whole life. Pillay grew up in a family of Indian Tamil descent in Durban, South Africa, where in 1967 she founded her own law firm. In the 1980s she studied at Harvard University and earned a doctor's degree. The first picture was taken during her studies at Harvard. Pillay later became the first non-white female judge of the High Court of South Africa. Today she works as a judge on the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Wait that was fun…let’s do it again!!
Happy birthday Amma..🫂😘
YouTuber Dhruv Rathee has announced a protest in London against alleged “vote chori” (vote theft) in India, calling on people to join him near Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Parliament Square on Saturday at noon. Announcing the plan, Rathee said, “International danka bajane ka time aa gaya hai” — meaning it is time to take the issue to the international stage. The announcement comes amid ongoing protests by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and its supporters, who have raised allegations of irregularities in electoral processes and demanded accountability from the Election Commission. The Election Commission has maintained that voter-list revisions follow established procedures, while allegations of wrongdoing remain contested. Rathee was previously detained at his Gurugram residence ahead of the CJP-led protest in Delhi. His planned demonstration in London now brings the debate over electoral transparency beyond India, with the issue set to be raised at a public gathering near one of the UK capital’s prominent landmarks.
