This Diwali, I’m choosing what feels right for each person, adding a little of my own touch to every box. Every gift feels like a small ritual, passed through me to the people I love most - beautifully chosen, thoughtfully given.

With @kamaayurvedaindia

Because every person I love carries their own light and together, that’s a ritual of glow worth sharing.

Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced Monday that the police shooting that killed 1-year-old Kohen Wiley was "justified." Kohen was killed in June after an officer fired at a car in a Walmart parking lot in Senatobia while responding to a shoplifting call. According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, the driver drove toward officers and nearly struck one before an officer opened fire. Kohen died at the hospital, and the driver, a friend of his mother, was critically injured.

Kohen's mother, Vellesiya Wiley, has disputed that account. She says they had gone to Walmart for diapers, that her friend was driving away from the officers, not toward them, and that she held her baby up to show police there was a child in the car. A preliminary autopsy released by the family's lawyers in July suggested the fatal bullet was fired through the side of the car, raising new questions about whether the officers were in danger at all. Kohen's mother has not been charged with any crime.

Family attorney Ben Crump is now demanding the release of the officer's body camera footage. "If the footage supports the state's decision, release it," he said. "We will not stop fighting until this family gets the truth." Four months later, a 1-year-old is dead, no officer has been held accountable, and the public still hasn't seen the video.
