My father in the ER, my Paris apartment burgled, a TV shoot, global expansion plans & tons of work… all in 1 week. 🤯🤦‍♂️
As you might remember, my last post 1 week ago hit a more optimistic note, describing how, after a very challenging year, my resilience seemed to pay off & I finally was seeing the light at the end of a long tunnel. But as one follower so rightly pointed out with a quote by my favorite author P. G. Wodehouse (after whose characters both Bertie and Gussie have been named): „I’m not absolutely certain of the facts, but I rather fancy it’s Shakespeare who says that it’s always just when a fellow is feeling particularly braced with things in general that Fate sneaks up behind him with the bit of lead piping.“ 😂 Well, fate brought out the lead piping for me in spades this past week:
1 The heaviest thing on my mind is my dear father who was rushed to the ER this week with acute pneumonia; I was tempted to jump on the next plane to Berlin but the doctors advised me that he needs antibiotics and rest… I have spoken with him every single day and he thankfully seems to be more stable now, though still a weak puppy… ❤️🙏
2 - 3 The week had started on a happier note, with a film shoot about connoisseurship for National Dutch TV which will be aired in spring 2027…
4 Gussie & I headed back to Monaco… 🇲🇨🐶🤟
5 … where I met with my business partners from South Korea to discuss the expansion of @alexanderkraft.montecarlo not South Korea in 2027 (and Japan, Singapore, Hongkong etc. later on)… 🍷💪
6 Needless to say, I spent a lot of time in my Monaco office…
7 - 8 … until I learnt that my Paris apartment had been burgled, almost exactly 2 years after my Provence estate has been burglarized & vandalized… 🤯🤬
9 - 10 Amongst the stolen items were some of my favorite Hermès HAC bags from my collection…🥲
11 … & an exceedingly rare Rolex pocket watch, double signed by the Indian retailer… if you see any of these items on the web, please alert me (or the police)… 😤
12 Thinking back to happier times with my parents in Monaco last year…
13 - 20 Escaping to Provence for 36h to decompress… 🐶🍂🙏
However, I shall always KBO, no matter what fate throws at me…💪
