So team it’s been just over a week and have recovered enough now to show a couple of pictures of my body building competition I took part in for the @pca_official in Hull .. I get asked all the time why, what for, what’s the point of it, how much money do you get if you win, and on and on. First a foremost the gym and lifting weights has helped me physically but mentally more than anything, I love the discipline, the challenge the atmosphere the camaraderie and simple fact it’s fucking hard work and you can’t fake your way onto stage you can’t hide behind anyone or anything.. you’re physique is the reflection of your work. It’s not about anyone else for me it’s just you being the best version of you and being better than last time .. one person who deserves a special mention from me is @davecampbell_purefitness who without his support guidance and fountain of knowledge it just wouldn’t be possible.. he’s not just a coach he’s a friend a mentor that person who invests his time energy constantly looking for new ways.. listening to me and keeping me going when it’s the bad day.. a true craftsman and someone who is so passionate about the sport .. thank you Dave we did together brother and I will always be grateful for those #littlebigthings

3.5 YEARS LATER… I FINALLY PRESSED SUBMIT! 🤩

And just like that, one of the biggest chapters of my life is coming to an end.

3.5 years of research, countless late nights, endless revisions, a LOT of coffee, moments of discovery, exciting milestones, valuable lessons, and memories that will last a lifetime.

All leading up to this one little click.

I have imagined this moment so many times, but now that it’s actually here, I don’t know whether to laugh, cry, celebrate or question what I’m supposed to do with my life now. 🤣

A PhD has a funny way of making you feel incredibly smart one day and questioning your entire existence the next.

But somewhere between the research, publications, teaching, conferences and occasional existential crises, I grew. Not just as a researcher, but as a person.

And while I’m proud of the thesis I’ve produced, I’m even prouder of the person I’ve become along the way.

To my supervisors, Professors Rakesh Gupta, Selva Selvanathan, Saroja Selvanathan and Tarlok Singh, thank you for challenging me, guiding me and helping me become a better researcher.

To Griffith Business School, Griffith Graduate Research School, my colleagues, students, friends and family, thank you for being part of this journey. I wouldn’t have done it without you all ❤️

And to everyone who has asked me, “So, when are you finishing your PhD?”

WELL, HERE’S YOUR ANSWER! 🤣

To the younger version of myself who decided to pursue a PhD in Finance, not knowing what the next few years would hold...

You did it, girl. And you should be so proud. ❤️

The examination process is still ahead, so I’m not quite Dr. yet, but I’m celebrating this moment.

PhD THESIS: OFFICIALLY SUBMITTED! 🎓✨
