SAUNA GIVEAWAY! 🔥 @sunhomesaunas gifted me the Luminar 2 I use at home, and now I’m partnering with them for a giveaway so you can enter for a chance to win your choice of an eligible sauna. I spend a lot of time calling out “biohacking” BS, but sauna is one of the few things in that space where the evidence is actually pretty interesting. In a cohort of 2,315 Finnish men followed for more than 20 years, more frequent sauna use was associated with lower cardiovascular and all-cause mortality (PMID: 25705824). Important: that’s observational data, so it does NOT prove sauna itself caused people to live longer. We also have randomized data. In an 8-week trial, adding 15 minutes of post-exercise sauna to exercise produced greater improvements in systolic blood pressure, cardiorespiratory fitness, and total cholesterol versus exercise alone in adults with cardiovascular risk factors (PMID: 35785965). For recovery, a small crossover trial found 20 minutes of infrared sauna after resistance training reduced soreness and attenuated the drop in explosive performance the next day (PMID: 37398966). But the overall recovery literature is still mixed, so I wouldn’t call sauna a magic recovery tool. Bottom line: sauna isn’t magic, but unlike a lot of “biohacks,” there’s enough legitimate evidence for me to take it seriously — and I’ve really enjoyed having the Luminar 2 as part of my routine. Want to win one? To enter: 1️⃣ Enter your email at the link in my bio — mandatory. 2️⃣ Like this post. 3️⃣ Follow @sunhomesaunas. 4️⃣ Tag 3 friends. Prize: Winner’s choice of one eligible Sun Home sauna or cold plunge. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. One entry per person. Open to legal residents of the 50 U.S./D.C. who are 18+ or the age of majority in their state. Void where prohibited. Ends October 22 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Winner will be contacted only by @sunhomesaunas. Official Rules: link in bio. Sponsored by Fish & Fischer LLC d/b/a Sun Home Saunas. Not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram or Meta. #SunHomePartner
