We didn’t live here. But we grew up here. 🎮 School bag on the floor. Console switched on. “You coming online?” Then it was hours on Terminal, arguments settled on Rust, and someone promising they knew a glitch that definitely didn’t work. We knew these maps better than the streets around our own homes. Every shortcut, every hiding spot, every window someone was definitely camping in. Back then, “one more game” was the biggest reason we stayed up late. Looking at these now, you almost expect to hear your old friends through the headset again. Which map brought it all back and who were you playing with? 🖤

So this is 60. I’ve lived a life that would sound made up if there weren’t so many witnesses. There have been wild adventures, questionable decisions, a few reinventions, and stories best told after the second bottle. From PR and advertising to roasting coffee, opening a speakeasy, and writing a novel, I apparently confused “slowing down” with “opening something else.” It hasn’t all been easy, and I haven’t gotten everything right. But I’ve taken chances, laughed my ass off, and built a life I couldn’t possibly have planned. And then there’s my wife, Kira. Of all the unexpected turns, ending up with you is the one I’m most grateful for. You’re my best friend, my partner in this beautiful insanity, and somehow both the voice of reason and my biggest enabler. We’ve built businesses, chased crazy ideas, traveled, and laughed our way through a life neither of us could have predicted. I love your heart, your brilliant mind, your wicked sense of humor, and that we genuinely love being together—even after spending all day together. The adventures make great stories, but it’s the everyday life with you that I wouldn’t trade for anything. Sixty looks a hell of a lot better with you beside me. And to my son and daughter: being your dad will always be one of the greatest privileges of my life. I love you both, I’m proud of the people you’ve become, and no matter how old any of us get, I’ll always be in your corner. Now I get to celebrate with over 200 people from every chapter of my life. Childhood friends, college friends, newer friends, and friends flying in from around the country will all be together in one room. You know very different versions of me, and between you, you probably know far too much. All kidding aside, that’s genuinely humbling. Taking time out of your lives, getting on planes, and showing up for me means more than I can put into a birthday post. I don’t take any of it for granted. Thank you for being part of this crazy life—and for encouraging behavior we should probably all know better than to encourage. Pour the good stuff. We’re nowhere near finished. 🥂
