20 days agoOur power went out on July 3, just before the Fourth of July weekend, with temperatures reaching 103°F. We immediately reported the outage, and JCPL estimated that power would be restored by midnight on July 4. That never happened. Instead, we received repeated updates, each one simply pushing the estimated restoration time further back. We spent multiple days without air conditioning in dangerous heat and lost all the food in our refrigerator. To make matters worse, on July 5 we received a text from JCPL stating that our power had been restored. It hadn’t. The message was completely inaccurate. We had to report the outage all over again as if it had just happened, putting us back at the beginning of the process. The lack of reliable communication has been just as frustrating as the outage itself. Being left without power, without AC during extreme heat, and with no clear information or confidence that anyone is addressing the problem is unacceptable. We understand that storms and emergencies can cause delays, but sending false restoration notices and forcing customers to restart the reporting process is simply inexcusable. This experience has been incredibly stressful and disappointing. I expect much better communication, accountability, and service from a utility company.
2 months agoCriminal organization sanctioned by the government. This company is garbage
2 months agoClown utility JCP&L can’t handle a May heat wave and has to start with the brown outs already 🤡🤡🤡🖕🏻
5 months agoBrutally difficult to do business with this utility company. There failure can best be seen on their call center. They have no regret or embarrassment quoting you a 2 or 3 hour wait due to high call volume. This message seldom changes. What a poor performer, a good case to get off this and purchase panels and a battery kit for home…..
