Australian gaming journalist and reviewer Alanah Pearce went viral for tracking down the mothers of young boys who sent her r*pe threats online. While working as a reviewer and radio host, Pearce routinely faced severe misogynistic harassment and violent threats on social media. Upon realizing that a significant number of these anonymous trolls were actually young, school-aged boys, she decided that trying to reason with them rationally was useless. Instead, she began looking through the perpetrators’ public Facebook profiles to identify their family members.

Once she identified their family members, Pearce sent the mothers direct messages containing screenshots of the abusive messages and threats of s*xu@l violence their sons had written. This approach to online accountability received significant global attention and support when she shared screenshots of the parents’ reactions—with one mother expressing profound disappointment and promising to discipline her son for his behavior. Pearce explained that her goal was to introduce real-world consequences to digital harassment, ensuring authority figures in these individuals’ lives could address and correct toxic online behavior.

LIL TECCA’S EVOLUTION 💰 Fortnite Bundle Concept

Fortnite and Lil Tecca are opening a pop up in New York tomorrow, July 25, running 2 PM to 8 PM at UMUSIC Shop NY inside 2 Penn Plaza. The event was announced by the shop alongside its Republic Records and Galactic branding, and HYPEX has already confirmed he plans to be there in person.

Instead of one outfit, it imagines the bundle as a full career retrospective. The braces and Champion crewneck from the Ransom era in 2019, the Kenzo tiger sweatshirt, the Saint Laurent ringer tee, the varsity jacket, and the studded leather and chains of the Dopamine cycle. Seven years of a Queens kid growing up in public, rendered as selectable styles.

I spy… something dark 🔎

In this photo snapped by @NASAHubble, this ghostly cloud appears to have a dark ring around the central galaxy cluster. That ring is evidence of dark matter, the invisible glue that holds the universe together.

Visible matter, or the stuff we can see, makes up only 5% of the universe. Dark matter makes up over five times as much of the universe, but we can’t see it because it doesn’t emit, reflect, or absorb any light. However, dark matter interacts with ordinary visible matter through gravity, so that’s how scientists detect it.

The exact nature of this abundant, invisible substance is still unknown, but our soon-to-launch Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope aims to shed light on the subject. With a field of view over 100 times that of @NASAHubble’s, Roman’s enormous perspective will measure the distribution of both visible and dark matter in hundreds of millions of galaxies, helping scientists understand how dark matter has evolved in the universe.
