"I stumbled across a Cecily Brown exhibition seven years ago at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, just outside Copenhagen, and it was one of those wonderful, fortuitous moments that took hold of me.

It was around the time I started to take contemporary art and collecting more seriously. Though I’m a little self-conscious admitting it, I bought the exhibition poster, which features this work. It lives in my kitchen, and I look at it every day. It seems to be constantly revealing and redefining itself, yet the only variable is me, because the piece isn’t changing."

For the annual supplement Bazaar Art, James Norton (@jginorton) reveals why he loves the work of the artist Cecily Brown, how it inspires him and why there's "no better depiction of the complexity of love and sex" than 'Couple' (2004). Link in bio.

Vogue has published a small library’s worth of photography books over the decades, but never one quite like “Vogue Portraits.” Across 640 pages, the book tells the story of the magazine’s features department, a side of Vogue that has always had its attention turned firmly outward to the wider world, to politics and sports and Hollywood and theater and fine art. Featuring a foreword by Anna Wintour and introductions by @LenaDunham and @ChloeMalle, “Vogue Portraits” arrives later this month from @abramsbooks.

🇵🇸 FREE FREE PALESTINE! 🇵🇸 FREE FREE PARIS!
