When I was completing my LLM at UCL we were bombarded with career fairs and 90% of the stands were from magic circle firms or big financial institutions. I craved an alternative and I felt trapped. Luckily I was able to find some smaller firms and I can tell you that I had many amazing experiences and learnings. Partners in smaller firms had the time to mentor me and I had more responsibility from the get go. Do not dismiss "smaller firms" because they don't have the fancy perks. The more you have perks the less you have time to enjoy them! Rachida x
