This was such a big deal!

We were at a new restaurant and I ordered Edemame for Hannah which is something that she is almost always able to eat.

When it came out, it had black pepper on it and this is something she isn’t used to. Even seeing a different seasoning on food that what she wasn’t expecting would have prevented her from even trying it before.

Her first reaction was I’m not going to eat that because it looks different, but then she decided she would try it and this would be a good exposure.

Avoidance is often the first response to something different, but she has learned so much on this journey. She is always reminding herself that she can do hard things even when her initial thought is she can’t.

To some people this may not seem like a big deal, but to us this shows exactly just how far she has come.
