Being a mentor is so much more than sharing knowledge and passing on your experience.
This month I celebrated 3 years of being a very proud creative mentor ✨
Mentoring comes with a huge amount of responsibility - it’s not a cookie cutter one-size-fits all approach. It’s about really seeing the whole picture - thinking outside the box, and maintaining very high standards that matches the investment and trust received from clients.
Its most definitley not about telling clients what you think they should be doing. It’s about:
GUIDANCE - making suggestions that will get creatives feeling excited, motivated and empowered to make own confident decisions
GOING DEEPER - digging and exploring is so important, as we often only see what’s visible. Looking at what’s underneath is where we find the root of blocks & self sabotage that are getting in the way of progress.
FEELING SAFE - creating a space where each individual whether 1-1 or in group setting feels comfortable to bring as much of themselves as feels right. When we are vulnerable we can make couragous steps forward.
HONESTY with empathy
These are the things I can say, being an artist -
“As an artist I can be really honest with you - as this is a mistake i would make / this is not supporting your goals”
“If can be really open with you here / I have first hand experience on why this doesn’t work… “
UNIQUENESS & new processes
Each creative and I go on a very unique journey together. This supports their differences and allows them to use these to their advantage. New ideas and processes often pop up through collaboration ✨
This programme has been one of my most rewarding projects and I’m so proud to have held space for over 300 creatives in this time. I can’t say thank you enough.
1-1 spots coming up in the coming weeks
Find the link in the BIO and let’s chat
If you’ve ever felt curious about what this could look like for you then now's the time to connect and explore how you can step into your 2023 with more magic ✨
Love always
Jo 🧡
