I’ve been sitting with this for a little while. It felt like the right time to share it Thank you to everyone who replied to my first newsletter in over a year. Your messages reminded me why these conversations matter. If anything here resonates, I’d genuinely love to hear where you are in your own creative journey. Jo ♡ by @joanna.henlyartmentor
Time for a 'Hello', or perhaps a chance of reconnection. Thank you for being here 🖤 by @joanna.henlyartmentor
Call it divine timing, the gift of having an amazing community or just seasonal luck - I’m moving out of the studio and into the Portuguese countryside for a short art residency / retreat My aim… To first relax, breathe and rest. I want to take my ideas, my materials and reconnect with the creative work that I’ve amassed the past 18months and to observe how the steps reveal themselves in this space and in nature. It might be big and loud, or small and quiet. Perhaps both. I’m fighting with the idea of creating order, aims, outcomes - against just letting be. Letting things arrive and find their place in nature and course of time feels right - taking these evolutions back to the studio to create a deeper awareness of how my next collection grows. I do, however have a few ideas I’m flirting with… Excited to see what emerges 🌱 I hope you’ll join me next week 😘 With love Joanna by @joanna.henlyartmentor
The big takeaway My mentoring process is not a blueprint. It’s a unique process tailored to each artist. We go on a journey together with 3 main goals, initially - and often very practical. The deeper stuff - self awareness, inner-connection, confidence and deep clarity are the byproducts gained along the way of moving towards those practical goals / intentions. The process, is not what you think. Holistically we cover all bases - with the knowing that everything is connected. Supporting big change internally raises the understanding of our creative value, power, access and how that integrates in the world. Right now - I’m looking for ambitious artists ready for some big change. Get in touch to find out more. With Love Jo ✨ by @joanna.henlyartmentor
that TIME when .... new series Pt.1 When you are working in your flow, you've moved through your blocks and obstacles and start to ASK for MORE ... is when the DREAM projects land. As promised I'm sharing with you some of my career highlights over the next few months - how they came about, the reality, the learning, the - wish I'd known at the time... (See tiles for project for full details) ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ ✨ I was asked, how do we 'grow up as artists' - I think the answer for me is - It starts with leaning into your vulnerability, trusting that your purpose is to live FULLY in your creativity... the rest follows. We grow by saying YES, first to ourselves and then YES in trusting in what we're capable of - even if we haven't done 'the thing' yet. I learnt the majority of my skills, gained my best contacts and GREW UP, live on new projects. It's not the safe and comfortable way of doing things, (I now have a mentor that supports me with that), ... but that's what worked for me. IS that something YOU will try this year? If you want support, and like me find it much easier to be BOLDER and BRAVER with a coach and mentor... then find ALL the new and diverse ways of working with me via the link in the BIO. I'm here for you. It's time to RISE ✨✨✨ Big love & Massive Creativity Jo by @joanna.henlyartmentor

Being a mentor is so much more than sharing knowledge and passing on your experience. This month I celebrated 3 years of being a very proud creative mentor ✨ Mentoring comes with a huge amount of responsibility - it’s not a cookie cutter one-size-fits all approach. It’s about really seeing the whole picture - thinking outside the box, and maintaining very high standards that matches the investment and trust received from clients. Its most definitley not about telling clients what you think they should be doing. It’s about: GUIDANCE - making suggestions that will get creatives feeling excited, motivated and empowered to make own confident decisions GOING DEEPER - digging and exploring is so important, as we often only see what’s visible. Looking at what’s underneath is where we find the root of blocks & self sabotage that are getting in the way of progress. FEELING SAFE - creating a space where each individual whether 1-1 or in group setting feels comfortable to bring as much of themselves as feels right. When we are vulnerable we can make couragous steps forward. HONESTY with empathy These are the things I can say, being an artist - “As an artist I can be really honest with you - as this is a mistake i would make / this is not supporting your goals” “If can be really open with you here / I have first hand experience on why this doesn’t work… “ UNIQUENESS & new processes Each creative and I go on a very unique journey together. This supports their differences and allows them to use these to their advantage. New ideas and processes often pop up through collaboration ✨ This programme has been one of my most rewarding projects and I’m so proud to have held space for over 300 creatives in this time. I can’t say thank you enough. 1-1 spots coming up in the coming weeks Find the link in the BIO and let’s chat If you’ve ever felt curious about what this could look like for you then now's the time to connect and explore how you can step into your 2023 with more magic ✨ Love always Jo 🧡 #creativementor #artmentor #illustrationmentor #creativementoring #creativementoringprogramme by @joanna.henlyartmentor
✨What do you want to be celebrating in 12 months time?✨ This is the question I would ask you on one of our strategy calls.
Many of the creatives that I speak to on these call are in full time work, the pandemic silver lining for them was they got to reconnect with their creative nature. Now they are ready to EXPLORE what is the next steps forward are and identify what their creative calling looks like. It’s very exciting. Others have been in the industry, super talented and have achieved a lot of amazing success, know they are ready for more but unsure what those steps forward look like. Here’s some of the responses I’ve had, I find them very inspiring. In 12 months I would like to ~ * Have my own studio * See my work in print * Have my work displayed in a luxury store window * To create my own hours & feel confident in the work I create * To have left my current job and celebrating a creative business WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE CELEBRATING IN 12MTHS? ✨What are your obstacles in reaching those goals? ✨What needs to change, what habits need replacing and rituals do you need to put into place to make this happen? ✨Are you ready for my help?✨ I have opened my schedule this week and next for you to have a FREE STRATEGY call with me. Are you ready to explore what your next steps are? Find the link in the BIO and let's chat. Remember EVERYTHING begins as a dream and with regular accountability your 95% more likely to hit those goals and turn them into RESULTS Big love and Creative Expansion Jo 💛🌿 #IllustrationMentor #CreativeMentoring #CreativeDevelopment #CreativeMentor #ArtistMentor #creativeblock #journaling #morningpages #neurodiversesquad #adhdcoach #adhdcreative by @joanna.henlyartmentor
I’m sharing my journey with ADHD and the inspiration behind my upcoming Masterclass. Being a visual artist had its challenges, including self-management and depression. Through years of mentorship and reflection, I devised supportive techniques. In these uncertain times, feeling stuck or considering career changes is not uncommon. I’ve been there and have compiled strategies to navigate these challenges. The Masterclass will introduce tools to manage tasks, build confidence, and clarify career paths. You’ll learn the neuroscience behind our experiences and turn resistance and anxiety into enjoyable aspects of your practice. Join us next Wednesday - wherever you are on Zoom Tickets are ONLY £26 pounds until tomorrow. This 90-minute session will help you build a toolkit for your practice, finance, and visibility, and you’ll receive a workbook that expands on the discussed topics. Leave the class feeling motivated to progress in your career. See you there. by @joanna.henlyartmentor
Mentoring RESULTS. This is possible for YOU also!! MY WINS … my RESULTS - how I’m making the best work of my life !! I have my LAST SPOTS of 2023 opening up this month and I want to support you in Making better art Gaining more time Fueled with energy Making more money AND SO MUCH more by @joanna.henlyartmentor
How I support artists - just a few of the many ways 1. I guide artists in navigating necessary change and move through deep limiting beliefs - to take their creative career to the next level. 2. I help artists understand who they really are, how they communicate that with full confidence and what new work they want to bring into the world 3. I give artists the tools to gain clarity on their direction and move their projects forward step-by-step with full confidence and excited motivation. 4. I work deeply with artists to help them understand how to make more money, grow their network, build their own organisation systems for more energy and fulfilment, to work with the fear and thrive, not just survive! Are you ready for a change? I have 2 x mentoring spots opening up this July / August More details are in the usual place 🥳 Saying YES is the hardest part. The rest we do together 💪🏻 I’m your coach, your mentor, your art critic, your champion and best team member. With Love Jo 🌱💛 by @joanna.henlyartmentor
