The next generation of the Ambani family took centre stage as Reliance Jio marked a historic milestone in Mumbai on Thursday, October 15, ahead of what is set to become India’s biggest-ever initial public offering (IPO). Akash Ambani, Isha Ambani and Anant Ambani were part of the next-generation leadership entrusted with taking Jio Platforms public, marking a significant chapter in the business empire founded by their grandfather, Dhirubhai Ambani. Akash and Isha also addressed the IPO announcement event, outlining Jio’s journey and future ambitions. The upcoming IPO is expected to raise as much as ₹30,213 crore, surpassing Hyundai Motor India’s ₹27,870 crore offering in 2024. Jio has fixed its price band at ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share, valuing the company at approximately ₹10.3 lakh crore at the upper end. Public subscription will open on October 21 and close on October 23. During the event, Isha Ambani shared an interesting story about how Jio’s journey began. She recalled struggling to submit a college assignment because of poor internet connectivity in Mumbai around 2009-10. The experience sparked conversations with her brother Akash about why India lacked the digital connectivity available in Western countries. Akash, who serves as Jio Platforms’ Managing Director, highlighted the company’s technology capabilities, 5G infrastructure and ambitions to capture opportunities in India’s growing digital economy. Veteran banker Uday Kotak described the upcoming IPO as a testament to the next generation of Reliance’s leadership, particularly Akash and Isha, while acknowledging Mukesh Ambani’s guidance. The occasion also carries historical significance. Nearly five decades after Dhirubhai Ambani took Reliance Industries public in 1977, his grandchildren are helping lead another landmark moment for the conglomerate. With over 53 crore subscribers and a record-breaking public offering approaching, Jio’s IPO represents both a major financial milestone and a generational transition in one of India’s most influential business families.

Section 9, Major Kusanagi is on site! I’m thrilled to share the first batch of photos from my Ghost in the Shell photoshoot with @josephchilin! I made the full costume from scratch for @kodanshamanga - a huge honor! Photos by @josephchilin I chose the iconic white trench coat look because it looked like a solid sewing challenge! And I’m weak for a good coat design. Real leather outer, holo metallic lining from my @cosplayfabrics collection. The padded sections were not fun to make 😅. Process video coming soon. The bodysuit and gloves were also made with my @cosplayfabrics, the navy superpreme and a geometric texture. The belt is leather with a fun triangle buckle! And yes, I made the shoes by altering and painting a pair of sneakers. My wig was styled by @malinda_chan using a @purplepluminc base wig Brian had the P-90 prop gun for the past 20 years because we are big GitS fans and Shirow has featured that gun in his art! I will make some of Major’s weapons this winter. We shot at a studio in Brooklyn that I’m not sure I can recommend because a lot of features were not in good condition… we made it work! After visiting Kodansha House NYC (free entry through October 18th in Hudson Yard!), @josephchilin met up with me again to take some photos at the Vessel! I love that photo so much! Tons more Kusanagi content to come, hope you will enjoy! #kodansha #kodanshamanga #kodanshahouse #ghostintheshell #majorkusanagi
