Welcome to a day in the life of a Mompreneur. Let’s get into this vlog.

We started with a trip to the mall, where I somehow lose Zachariah in every store, only to find him standing in the display like a mannequin. This time, shoppers thought he was actually part of it. They stopped to look, completely in awe. If you need a mannequin, Zachariah is your guy.

After helping me check out, he spent the rest of the day jumping around and doing what he does best. Boy mom life.

Having a Tasker from @taskrabbit clean and reorganize our home has given me so much peace of mind. I can get ready and take care of what I need to do while knowing my home is being looked after. It’s been life-changing, and I recommend it to any busy parent who could use an extra set of hands.

Then I headed to the Meta Screen Smart @meta event in Toronto. As a former classroom teacher of eight and a half years, I’ve seen how much things have changed. Conversations about online safety matter, and I learned about Instagram Teen Accounts, their built-in protections, and the parent supervision tools available through Family Center.

We heard from panelists about youth wellbeing and digital safety, then shared ideas about balancing social media with life at home. I was asked to share our group’s thoughts, and even though we were running out of time, you know I love a stage. I went up and shared with whoever was still there to listen.

My platform is an extension of the classroom, and I love bringing what I learn back to my community. I also loved catching up and dancing with my creator friends, writing down my takeaways, and bringing home a badge I’m keeping forever.

Thank you to the whole Meta team for having me. I hope you’re enjoying these vlogs and coming along with me.

Motherhood is not a limitation; it’s a launch pad.

A severe migraine changed something Sarah Colwill never expected to lose: the sound of her own voice.

In the BBC documentary The Woman Who Woke Up Chinese (2013), Colwill describes being rushed to the hospital in 2010 after an intense migraine. Her familiar Plymouth accent disappeared, replaced by speech that other people perceived as Chinese.

Doctors eventually connected the change to Foreign Accent Syndrome, an extremely rare condition in which changes to speech rhythm, pronunciation and intonation make someone sound as though they have acquired a different accent.

But Sarah hadn’t suddenly learned another accent or language. The way her brain produced speech had changed, and listeners interpreted the resulting pattern as foreign.

For Sarah, the strangest part wasn’t simply hearing herself sound different. Your voice is something you rarely think about until it no longer sounds like the one you’ve heard your entire life, and she described the experience as deeply isolating while searching for an explanation. (@60minutes9)

The way these two instantly clicked 😭💛✨

There was no awkwardness, no hesitation, no needing to explain. They just got each other. Watching them laugh, smile, and connect so effortlessly was such a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most special connections don’t need words.

I hope every child gets to experience a friendship where they feel this understood, this accepted, and this loved 😭🫶🏻

“I got in the studio in September 2025 in East London and P [P2J] had named everything ‘Jorja 1’, ‘Jorja 2’, ‘Jorja 3’, and so on,” she explains. “The first he played was ‘Jorja 5’, which actually turned into ‘Dancing’ – as soon as he played that, I had the melody and the lyrics for the first verse. I was like, ‘Oh my God, let’s record’. We had eight songs in the first two days. “The first day was all the odd numbers. I said, ‘Oh, what are the odds? Save it as that’. Then I began thinking what are the odds I’m making this album? What are the odds I’m creating this with P2J? What are the odds I’m still here ten years into making music? It just became it.
“This is the quickest I’ve ever made an album, everything just felt so natural. Where and when [you listen] is completely up to you. It can be driving: getting in your car in the morning going somewhere or late at night on the way back. Out in the club. In the gym. On a beach. At home.”
