Today is #nationalgirlsandwomeninsportsday. This picture popped up in my personal feed and I wanted to share it here. This is my middle daughter’s club soccer team at a tournament in NC back in December. You’ll note that the picture is not of the girls playing soccer but rather of them smiling and enjoying spending time together! Sports is an amazing way and opportunity to build community, what we have lost so much of over the last 3 years. Building community is a tremendous form of therapy; building community provides: 1) support and safety, 2) connection and belonging, 3) positive influence, 4) ability to share, 5) opportunities to learn, 6) opportunities to practice acceptance, and 7) opportunities for success! Kudos to all the sportspeople and teammates out there supporting each other! 🥰
