HU Staff: Jamal Osborne @_j.osborne A white Dallas police officer convicted of killing a Black man in his apartment that she mistook for her own is set for her parole release after serving seven years of her 10-year sentence. _____________________________________________ The Texas Board of Pardons and Parole, which is appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott, rejected Amber Guyger’s initial parole request in 2024, but approved her case over the objections of victim Botham Jean’s family the first time she was eligible to ask again. _____________________________________________ Guyger, 38, was convicted of murder in the 2018 killing of 26-year-old Jean, an accountant from the Caribbean island nation of St. Lucia, who had been eating a bowl of ice cream when Guyger entered his home and shot him. Guyger was arrested three days after the shooting and was fired before her murder trial. ____________________________________________ Click link in bio for full story 📸: Getty Images
🚨At Trump’s Youngstown, Ohio rally, a woman wearing a “Release the Epstein Files” shirt was punched in the face, shoved, and had her hair pulled by attendees before police removed her. The men who assaulted her walked free. Russell Dickert posted on Facebook that he, friend Gary, and Gary’s son Clint “subdued her and threw her to the concrete” until police arrived, after she allegedly called Trump a “fascist.” Reporting also suggests her heckling was Epstein files related. Dickert’s post was later made private or deleted. Video shows the assault while the crowd chanted “USA”; the men stayed and high-fived eachother after the assault. Trump then called her a “paid protester,” “scum,” and a “fat guy” who needed a diet. Social media has identified Dickert from the post and rally footage.
