This post is about accountability and introspection.. no matter the political party, we will continue losing if we are not willing to hold our political leaders to account. I’m not talking about holding Mamdani who you hate to account. I’m talking about holding the leaders, you championed and fought for to account. The leaders you loved. Because the second you allow them to betray you with no repercussions, is the second you will lose your seat in that party and in that office.. We willingly let go of our power as voters, we voluntarily gave a hall pass to the politicians we support to cheat on us and betray our issues. We have become the path of least resistance, betraying us costs nothing socially or otherwise. As long as your betrayal comes wrapped up in diplomatic language… this is a reflection of a party. This is an reflection of politics. This is a reflection of what happens when constituents no longer hold politicians to account, but rather act as their personal PR team to provide them cover.
