Cosplay showcase - Charlie & Cathy from Saint Greaver's ERSATZ - Trench Dogs

I absolutely love Ersatz and Trench Dogs is an incredibly moving animation that I wanted to do fanart for so much. Instead of art, I got inspired to try making a cosplay. It's not fully done yet, but I finished the main parts today and decided to do a test run and make some videos showing off the motion. (Decided to not add any voiceover, so it's just random music.)

Still needs some tweaks and I need a better grasp of the puppeteering, but I'm happy with it! (I did change the string attachment last minute before the video, which actually made it slip too much, so I will use the previous one that made the mouth more snappy.)
Yes, Cathy is more of a puppet, the head is separate, kind of a half mask, with a string running down to the body, where it's attached and the lower jaw is moved with my head motions. I'm thinking about adding a string to the tail so that I can move it without directly touching it too.
I haven't done this kind of semi realism in a while, so making the mask was a fun challenge!

I haven't done any gorey parts like the ribs around, might do that later. For now besides Cathy, I tailored a jacket to match the Ersatz designs more (though even after resizing it, it's a bit baggy, so I may revisit it) and got a base helmet that I repainted and added a strap to. I did make an eva foam one from scratch, but I waa unhappy with the shape. I also made some leather boot covers, but they're not much visible here.

לא הבנתי... אתה מצפה שאני אשלח?

After more than a decade shaping Moroccan hip-hop as one half of Shayfeen, Shobee stepped out on his own when the duo split in 2021, and the solo run has been deliberate rather than rushed. His 2023 debut album HOWLS marked his first real statement as a standalone artist. Since then he’s kept a measured pace, dropping singles like “Machi M3ana” and collaborations rather than flooding the market, treating every release as something worth waiting for he’s said there’s more on the way, with fans wondering whether the next drop is another album or something bigger, i guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Welcome Shobee to Mass Appeal Africa
