Never gets old 😂

The Break-Up gets much of its tension from treating a relationship ending less like a dramatic event and more like two people stubbornly refusing to give up the same space. Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston play Gary and Brooke with enough familiarity that their arguments feel built from years of tiny frustrations, with both characters convinced the other person should already understand what they need.

Director Peyton Reed deliberately pushed the movie away from the usual romantic-comedy formula, and Vaughn has said the appeal was making something that dealt more honestly with the frustrations inside relationships.

‘The Break-Up’ is available to stream on Peacock.
